Privacy Policy

Every capability below is off until you enable the feature that needs it, and each one can be revoked in system settings at any time.

Location (coarse)

only if you enable the weather widget. Your position is rounded to two decimal places (~1 km) and sent to api.open-meteo.com to fetch the current conditions. No API key, no account, no identifier accompanies the request. Location is never stored and never used for anything else.

Notification access

only if you enable the Unread or Now-playing widget. The app counts how many notifications each app is holding and reads which media session is playing. Notification content is never read, stored, or transmitted. Counts exist only in memory while the launcher is on screen.

Calendar (read)

only if you enable the Next-event widget. The next event’s title and start time are shown on your home screen. Nothing is stored or transmitted.

Physical activity

only if you enable the Steps widget. The step counter sensor is read on-device. Nothing is transmitted.

Accessibility service

only if you enable system gestures (notification shade, quick settings, ordinary screen lock). TXT Launcher uses Android’s AccessibilityService API to perform those three global actions and nothing else. It is configured so it cannot read window content, it subscribes to no accessibility events at all, and it collects, stores and transmits no personal or sensitive data. It serves no accessibility function and is declared as such. Before the app ever opens Android’s Accessibility settings it shows you a page explaining all of the above and asks you to agree; if you decline, nothing changes. You can switch the service off again in Android’s Accessibility settings at any time.

Your settings — pinned apps, renames, hidden-app list, categories, widget choices, gesture assignments — are stored on your device. They are included in your phone’s own Android backup (encrypted by Android, held in your Google account) so a new phone can restore them. TXT Launcher itself has no server and receives nothing.

• —No advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, no telemetry.
• —No sale or sharing of data with anyone.
• —No reading of notification content, screen content, or messages.
• —No network traffic other than the Open-Meteo forecast request described above.

TXT Launcher does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

If a future version changes any of the above, this policy will be updated and the change noted in the release notes before the version ships.
